About the Project

The Chai Conversation Project was created by community members who recognized that one of the greatest challenges facing the Jewish community today is a lack of unity and connection across our diverse backgrounds and experiences. They believed that meaningful relationships are built not through grand initiatives, but through simple, personal conversations.

Our community is rich with different traditions, perspectives, life experiences, and journeys. The Chai Conversation Project celebrates that diversity by creating opportunities for Jewish people to connect with one another through thoughtful, one-on-one conversations.

Participants are matched with someone they may not otherwise have the opportunity to meet and invited to spend 30 minutes together over coffee, a walk, or another comfortable setting. These conversations provide a chance to share stories, learn from one another, discover common ground, and build new friendships.

The project is rooted in the belief that unity does not require uniformity. We don't all have to think alike, practice alike, or come from the same background to care about one another and feel connected as a community. By getting to know one another as individuals, we strengthen the bonds that unite us while appreciating the unique contributions each person brings to Jewish life.

Every conversation is a small but meaningful step toward a stronger, more connected, and more united Jewish community.

One conversation. One connection. One community.
