Building Jewish Unity one conversation at a time
One of the biggest challenges facing the Jewish world today is lack of unity. Across communities and denominations, we’ve grown distant from one another.
This project is based on a simple but powerful idea: it’s our shared responsibility to change that.
Each Chai conversation has the potential to spark a lifelong friendship—or simply serve as a one-time Kiddush Hashem, an act of kindness and respect that honors our shared Jewish values.
However it unfolds, it all begins with a single conversation.
How it works
-
Complete our simple registration form and tell us a little about yourself. We'll ask about your Jewish background, stage of life, interests, hobbies, and availability so we can find the best possible match for you.
-
Our team will thoughtfully pair you with someone from your local Jewish community whose Jewish background or perspective differs from your own. The goal is to create meaningful opportunities for connection and understanding.
-
Once matched, we'll introduce you by email or text and encourage you to arrange a convenient time to meet. Conversations can take place over coffee, during a walk, over lunch, or wherever feels comfortable for both participants.
-
Not sure how to begin? We'll provide a set of optional conversation prompts designed to help break the ice and spark meaningful discussion. You're welcome to use them—or simply let the conversation unfold naturally.
-
Spend 30 minutes getting to know one another. The goal isn't to debate or convince—it's to listen, learn, share experiences, and build relationships across our diverse Jewish community.
-
Every conversation is a small but meaningful step toward greater understanding, friendship, and connection. Together, we're building a stronger, more united Jewish community—one conversation at a time.
